It has been a wild year for Australia’s vapers but the latest news is certainly good news for those who have been keeping tabs on the Australian government’s proposal to ban the importation of nicotine e-cigarettes and vape juice. The plan has been scrapped. There is no more pending ban around the corner.

First, the ban was proposed. Then it was postponed for six months. And now it’s done for. Over with. The end. Although, it may not actually be the end, as there is a chance this whole notion of banning nicotine vape imports could resurface in the future. But for now, Australia’s vapers can relax and continue vaping their imported nicotine e-juice.

If the ban had not been canceled, it would have started on January 1, 2021. Originally, when it was first proposed, it was scheduled to start on July 1, 2020, but with significant pushback from vapers and politicians alike, it was quickly postponed.

For Australia’s vapers, the fight for the right to vape appears to be far from over as it appears the government is intent on introducing new vaping regulations at some point in the future. What exactly those regulations will entail remains to be seen, which is perhaps why it is a good time for Australia’s vapers to make their voices heard if they want to have a say in how vaping is regulated across Australia.
