The king of vaporizers, Storz & Bickel, has launched a new desktop vaporizer to rule them all: the Volcano Hybrid. This new version of the Volcano, the latest in the world-renown Volcano vaporizer series, might look similar at a glance, but it’s equipped with new features never before seen in a Volcano vaporizer.
Here Comes The Whip
While the Volcano series is well known for its balloon delivery system that captures vapor to be inhaled at the user’s leisure, the Hybrid offers a tried and true delivery method that some users may prefer: the whip.
A whip, as it’s referred to in the world of vaping, is a tube that carries vapor to the user. Of course, vapers who prefer the vaporizer balloon can use that as well, providing users of the new Hybrid Volcano with the choice to use either.
With the tube delivery method, the vaporizer’s internal pump is left inactive. As a result, the tube inhalation method relies on lung power, whereas the balloon delivery method remains powered by the vaporizer’s internal air pump.
Improved Heat Up Time
Prior versions of the Volcano, which include the Classic Volcano and the Volcano Digit, heat up in anywhere from three to six minutes. As far as vape heat up times go, they’re nowhere near the fastest. The Hybrid, however, does away with the slow heat-up times of past versions, offering users a quick on the draw vaping experience that’s sure to impress users of the Classic, Medic, and Digit.

Touch-Sensitive Controls
Not that it’s a big deal, as it is 2019, but the Hybrid now offers touch-sensitive controls, doing away with the old style of now retro buttons boasted by the Volcano Digit. The entire interface remains reminiscent of the Digit with its display and buttons, but it’s now operated by touch. This comes as a noticeable improvement over the Volcano Classic’s display-free system but appears to be little more than a slight improvement over the Digit’s.
Works With Dosing Capsules
Storz & Bickel’s dosing capsules are compatible with the Hybrid. These small metal capsules can be prefilled with herbs, allowing vapers to quickly load the vaporizer’s filling chamber when they’re ready to vape.
Bluetooth App Control
The Hybrid is a Bluetooth-enabled vaporizer supported by an app that’s compatible with both iOS and Android devices. With the app installed, users can take control of the vaporizer’s functions, essentially transforming a smartphone into a remote control.
