The Smoke Buddy Junior works just as well as the original Smoke Buddy when it comes to filtering smoke and vapor, however, it does not last as long and it takes a bit more effort to blow through. Small Enough To Fit In A Pocket
While the original SmokeBuddy is a superior product for home use, the smaller version, the Junior, is a better option for those who travel because it’s slim enough to slide into a pocket. If you try to put the original in your pocket, I suspect you will be disappointed by how large it is. I can fit it in a pocket in my sweatpants, which have rather large pockets, or into a pocket on one of my heavy coats, but if you have smaller pockets with a tight opening or just prefer not to have something large and bulky in your pocket, the Smoke Buddy Jr is the better choice. Its slim profile makes it relatively easy to stuff into a pocket, but you might not be able to fit much else in there so keep that in mind.
Works Well With Vape And Smoke
I’ve personally tested numerous Smoke Buddy Juniors with a variety of different vapes. It does an excellent job of filtering the vapor and eliminating the odor that comes from vaping. For the best results, I tend to place my thumb over the mouthpiece of my disposable vape directly after puffing on it so that vapor does not leak out while I’m exhaling through the filter. This minimizes the amount of vape smell that can escape into the air. The vast majority of the smell disappears, as the filter has proven to be very effective. It also reduces the amount of smoke or vapor that’s released into the air while filtering the odor.
As for smoke, I had to rely on a friend who still smokes to test it because I switched to vaping years ago. After testing it, it proved to be similarly effective.
Does Not Last As Long With Vapor
If you’re vaping with the Smoke Buddy, don’t expect it to last as long as it would if you were smoking. The vapor breaks down the activated carbon filter rather quickly, so if you’re using it often then you can expect to replace it rather quickly. You’ll know when it needs to be replaced because it becomes more and more difficult to blow through. If you feel like you’re trying to blow through a straw, it’s probably time to replace it.
The original version definitely lasts a lot longer. With the original, I can easily get weeks or more out of a single filter before it needs to be replaced. This is with heavy daily use. With the Junior, it’s anywhere from days to weeks, but certainly no longer than a month. However, I have noticed that if I let it sit for a while, it seems to dry out, allowing it to be used for a longer period of time.
The problem with vaping and the Smoke Buddy is not that it doesn’t work, but rather that the vapor breaks down the filter. The vapor is simply too wet and the constant exposure to moisture causes the filter to break down much faster than it would if it were only used to filter smoke.
Strongly Recommended For Indoor Use
If you’re vaping or smoking indoors and want to reduce the amount of smoke or vapor that’s in the air, use a Smoke Buddy personal air filter.
